WEST ORANGE, NJ - 256 eighth grade Roosevelt Middle School students graduated on Tuesday, June 17 in a commencement held at West Orange High School. The students now officially become part of the WOHS Graduating Class of 2018.

Interim Superintendent James O'Neill encouraged the students to set goals, participate in clubs and activities and take advantage of the many opportunities the high school has to offer. West Orange High School Principal Hayden Moore welcomed his new Mountaineers and their families.

Roosevelt Middle School’s Select Orchestra and Chorus Members directed by Craig Stanton and Matthew Schmidt performed. The Mayor’s Citizen Pride Award was awarded to Sophia Raines and Lucas Scalora. The Betty Lou Hardy and Jack Ramsay Award, the Carol Sadler Kindness of Heart Award, and other academic awards were presented.  The Academic Excellence Address was given by Cameron Gart and Adelle Saldanha.

“Graduates, take full advantage of the opportunities ahead of you and enjoy your experiences, but always keep your goals in mind and never let anything or anybody (including yourselves) stand in the way of accomplishing what you see as success,” said Principal Hush. “I wish you well and all the best as your journey continues.”
