NORTH CALDWELL, NJ - West Essex High School senior Jacquelin Renda, a member of the high school field hockey team, has been named an NJSIAA Female Scholar Athlete.

West Essex Athletic Director Damion Macioci has announced that. Jacquelin, a resident of Roseland, was honored at a special NJSIAA dinner with other New Jersey athletes. The award recognizes female students who are successful in school and in athletics. Field Hockey Coach Jill Cosse said she nominated Jacquelin for the award and was thrilled when she learned that Jacquelin was selected to receive the award. "Jacquelin is a leader both on and off the field," Coach Cosse said.

"I am very honored to be selected and to represent West Essex," said Jacquelin, who has signed with Lehigh University to play field hockey in the fall. Jacquelin said she plans to study business.
