ROSELLE PARK, NJ — The Roselle Park School District will be holding a virtual event for parents/guardians to learn about ways to support their children during this pandemic.
The event, to be held November 10, is called "Addressing the Social and Emotional Needs of Our Children" and will be hosted by George Scott, LMFT. Scott will be talking about the different ways stress can affect a child versus an adult and how parents can respond.
Scott will also be addressing family stressors that can affect students including illness, finances, parent discord, and school. These issues, in addition to coronavirus pandemic, can cause toxic stress.
According to Scott, “all adults have within them the power to address the needs of children.” The Zoom information will be emailed on November 6 to the parent/guardian email address the district has on file.
