Roselle Park’s SummerFest Presents Great August Events

ROSELLE PARK, NJ - Looking for some family oriented fun during this last month of summer? Then come to Roselle Park, we have a town wide picnic, fireworks, outdoor family oriented movies, a dance recital, art exhibits, and a night of art.

Currently scheduled events for the month of August are:

National Night Out Tues Aug 5 starts in Roselle Park with activities beginning at 6:00PM. Meet the Police Department and learn about Public Safety programs, have fun on Bounce, see the inside of a fire truck! Till 8:00PM. Location is Green Acres Complex at the High School by West Colfax Ave. At 9:15 Fireworks begin!

“Movies Under the Stars” fun for the whole family! The Roselle Park Summer Film Series returns Fridays, August 8th & August 29, 8PM at the Casano Community Center’s back yard, 314 Chestnut St Roselle Park, 908-245-0666 FREE. Bring a lawn chair. In case of rain, will be held inside.

Roselle Park’s Planet Dance studio, will present a Dance Recital August 20, 2014 6:30  – 7:00PM at the Casano Community Center, 314 Chestnut St Roselle Park. Free

The children will love the annual Veterans Memorial Library “Reading is a Picnic” End of Summer Party, on August 25, 2014 6 – 8 PM. Bring a picnic basket and blanket and enjoy JoJo Russell Kids in Motion – a 45 min non-stop song-dance-game extravaganza for kids of all ages. New exhibit opens August 25, 2014 at the Casano Community Center Art Gallery, 314 Chestnut St Roselle Park. “Twisted Tales” will be artwork by the students of artist Lynnor Bontigao. The children will present known fairytales, poems, nursery rhymes, or folktale and then put a twist to it. Through October 2014.

Come enjoy a Night of Art on August 27, 6-8PM at the Casano Community Center, 314 Chestnut St Roselle Park. There will be a poetry reading by Roselle Park’s Poet Laureate, Leona Seufert, an open mic for the audience to read poetry, also music, and a talk about the current exhibit in the Art Gallery. Free

Roselle Park is easy to reach by car or public transportation. New Jersey Transit buses 58, 94, and 113 stop in the heart of the downtown, the Raritan Valley train station is four blocks to the north on Chestnut St., and the Garden State Parkway’s exit 137 is a short drive west of town on Westfield Ave. Also, Route 28 passes right through Roselle Park’s downtown Westfield Ave.

Roselle Releases Garbage and Recycling Schedule for 2017

ROSELLE, NJ - The officials from the Roselle Department of Public Works (DPW), released the Garbage and Recycling schedule for 2017. 

The schedule shows no bulk pick up for the entire month of January. Bulk trash for the East Side will be the first Wednesday of the month and West Side will be the third Wednesday of the month.
