MT ARLINGTON, NJ - The Lake Hopatcong Elks is hosting a pre-Halloween fundraiser concert featuring four bands that will play live at its site on Mount Arlington Boulevard.
The Oct. 24 concert, titled "Monsters of Rock," will feature performances by Hopatcong Sound Machine, Road Machine, Sixx Seconds to Mars (Mötley Crüe tribute) and Obey Your Master (Metallica tribute), said the Elks in a press release. It said the show will run from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
"During the restrictions caused by this year’s pandemic, we’ve all missed gathering together and enjoying live events with our friends, but that’s about to change," said the organization. "However, this fantastic outdoor show is about more than simply bringing people together again; it’s aim is to raise money for all of the Elks’ charitable activities, all of which help us build stronger communities."
The show will take place outside and will observe social distancing protocols, according to the Elks.
"As well as the live music, we will be holding a a 50/50 raffle and there will be a fancy dress contest for those who come dressed as 80s rockers, which is sure to be great fun," said the organization. Tickets will be $10 in advance or $15 at the door. More information is available by calling (201) 230-2596.
"Elks currently have more than 850,000 members, and public service is an integral part of being a member," said the organization. "As a result, Elks create and participate in a variety of programs to improve their communities in any way that they can ... This Halloween concert will be able to do two things all at once; it will raise funds, and it will bring the community together, meaning that it’s a perfect manifestation of what it means to be an Elk."
