CAMDEN, NJ — A law student at Rutgers University–Camden has been banned from the campus over posts in a school Facebook group "characterized as disturbing."
The posts Thursday morning were shared to a closed page for Rutgers Law students, according to a message sent this afternoon to the campus community.
An investigation resulted in the student's removal, the Rutgers University Police Department determined it "does not believe there is an imminent threat to the safety of our campus," the message read. The Camden County Prosecutor's Office is assisting in further investigation.
No information was shared on the content of the posts to the closed group. Michael Sepanic, a Rutgers–Camden spokesperson, declined to comment further on the situation.
The university reminded members of the campus community that counseling services are available at the Student Wellness Center.
