Ruth Messinger, President of the American Jewish World Service, will speak at Congregation B’nai Jeshurun, Short Hills, on Friday, December 17th at 7 pm.  She will discuss Fighting Hunger in a World of Plenty.  There is an enormous transformative impact we can make as global citizens working to ensure lasting social justice.
Ms. Messinger will discuss how American Jews can influence our government to address the root causes of hunger and poverty, and put an end to the world’s growing hunger problem from the ground up.  She will also highlight the work of AJWS and the grassroots projects it supports in countries throughout Africa, Asia and the Americas.
Members of the community are invited to attend.  For further information about Congregation B’nai Jeshurun and programs at the Temple, contact Executive Director Alice Lutwak at 973-379-1555 or
