Salt Brook School Students Help Prepare Lunches for Homeless

Salt Brook third grader Abigail Miller and second graders Colleen Horan and Aubri Benaquista make lunches for Bridges Outreach Inc.

NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - More than 100 Salt Brook Elementary School students gathered in the cafeteria after school on Jan. 14 to prepare 400 brown-bag lunches for Bridges Outreach Inc., which the organization then delivered to the homeless in our area.

Organized by Salt Brook’s PTA, the Bridges initiative is just one way that students demonstrate the mission, “Kindness Counts…Step It Up,” this year’s district-wide Character Education theme.
