PARKLAND, FL- Florida had a spike in Coronavirus daily cases on Saturday with over 11,000 new cases and 110 deaths. 

Florida has vaccinated a total of 2,973,872 and 1,642,800 have completed the series. Broward County has vaccinated 252,390 and 147,444 have completed the series.

The percent of positive results ranged from 5.17% to 6.88% over the past 2 weeks and was 5.61% on Friday, February 26, 2021. The percentage calculated is for people that test positive for the first time and does not include people that had previously tested positive.

Here are the current COVID-19 numbers according to the Florida Department of Health as of Saturday, February 27, 2021:

Florida: 1,903,682 total confirmed cases, an increase of 11,381 since yesterday. 

Broward County: 194,236 total confirmed cases, an increase of 676 since yesterday. 

Parkland: 2,140 total confirmed cases, an increase of 3 since yesterday. 

Coral Springs: 10,952 total confirmed cases, an increase of 43 since yesterday. 

Deaths in Florida related to COVID-19: 30,734 an increase of 110 since yesterday.  

Broward County: 8,887 (4.6%) total hospitalizations with 2,374 (1.2%) deaths due to COVID-19. Deaths increased by 5 since yesterday. The median age is 39.

Broward County Percent Positive: 6.6% per the latest data on February 25, 2021.

Broward County Hospital Bed Availability: Hospitals have 920 (17.1%) beds available and 81 (16.4%) adult ICU beds available per the latest data on February 26, 2021.

Parkland Schools Total Cases According to the Florida Department of Health's Latest Data Through February 13:

  • Heron Heights Elementary: 8 cases (+2: 1 student, 1 teacher)
  • Marjory Stoneman Douglas: 41 cases (+5: 3 students, 2 teachers)
  • Mary Help of Christians School: 8 cases (+1: 1 teacher)
  • Park Trails Elementary: 22 cases (+1: 1 staff)
  • Riverglades Elementary: 24 cases (+2: 2 students)
  • Somerset Parkland Academy: 15 cases (+1:1 student)
  • Westglades Middle School: 14 cases (+2: 2 students)
