Saturday's Deadly West End Shooting Still Under Investigation

PLAINFIELD, NJ - The Union County Homicide Task Force is continuing to investigate the Saturday, Aug. 16 shooting near the area of West Third Street and Monroe Avenue in which 20-year-old Dearn Marcano of Plainfield was killed and three other city residents were injured. 

The Union County Crime Stoppers have increased the maximum reward for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case from $5,000 to $20,000; tips can be given anonymously by phone at 908-654-TIPS (8477), via text message by texting “UCTIP” and a message to 274637 (CRIMES), or online at www.uctip.org.

UNION, NJ – The man struck and killed by a motor vehicle as he attempted to cross Route 22 Friday morning has been identified as Edgard Cruz of Union.
