The Sussex County Community College (SCCC) production of The Broadway musical comedy, The Producers will be performed at the Performing Arts Center at SCCC on November 30th and December 1st and 2nd.
The musical comedy is based on the Mel Brooks' classic cult comedy film. As a musical, The Producers sets the standard for modern, outrageous, in-your-face humor. On Broadway, the musical won a record twelve Tony Awards and wowed capacity crowds night after night. Nathan Lane and Mathew Broderick were an incredible comedy team in the original production. The SCCC production features Tim Chenard of Hampton and Matt Torres of Hopatcong who will not disappoint as they embody this very outrageous humor. The sexy Swedish bombshell “a la” Marilyn Monroe is played by Sarah Flora of Newton. They will keep you rolling in the aisles. This is definitely the season to be entertained and to laugh.
“Talent, experience, creativity, and enthusiasm can be used to describe the team working behind the scenes to bring this musical comedy to life”, said director Stella Trikouros, SCCC Assistant Professor of Dramatic Arts. Phil Lid, the Musical director is a 15 year veteran of the Metropolitan Opera Company in New York City. The choreography is by the trained dancer and teacher Kimberly Jackson who was recently seen in the Growing Stage production of Peter Pan. The 1959 New York City era is reflected in the sets designed by artist and SCCC Adjunct Professor, Jesse Lerch.
Five performances will be held on November 30, December 1 and 2, 2012. The humor in this play is PG 13. For more information contact Stella Trikouros at firstname.lastname@example.org or 973-300-2189.
