SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- The Scotch Plains Business and Professional Organization and the Township of Scotch Plains hosted the 4th annual Menorah Lighting on Monday evening on the Alan Augustine Village Green to commence the first night of Hanukkah. The Chabad of Union County presided over the lighting.

Mayor Al Smith, Deputy Mayor Ted Spera, Councilwoman Elizabeth Stamler, Council-elect Josh Losardo, Township Manager Al Mirabella, Deputy Manager Margaret Heisey and Downtown Redevelopment Coordinator Tom Strowe were among those who participated in the celebration.

A highlight of the event for the children was the chocolate gelt drop.
