MONTCLAIR, NJ - Students from School of Rock Montclair raised money for a good cause. To commemorate its 10th anniversary, School of Rock Montclair has donated $750, raised by students, to Toni’s Kitchen.
“Over the past ten years, hundreds of young musicians have benefited from our unique performance-driven approach to teaching music,” says School of Rock Montclair’s General Manager Kevin March. “While our anniversary has been a celebration of the excellence and durability of our programs, it’s happening during a time of uncertainty for many in our community. To help those who are struggling with having enough food to eat during the pandemic, our donation to Toni’s Kitchen is our way to help our neighbors in need.”
In each of the School’s themed Performance Programs, students have been learning the most popular and important songs of select artists and genres. Students are also learning the intricacies of working together as a band and presenting these songs in front of a live audience.
School of Rock Montclair’s fall Performance Programs include celebrations of popular hits by AC/DC, Pink Floyd’s “The Wall”, indie pop, arena rock, and blues/funk/r&b. Concerts featuring the students’ live presentations of these musical tributes will be streamed from the School’s location on Valley Road in January 2021.
