Scotch Plains-Fanwood Girls Basketball Scores Big Win on Road

NEWARK, NJ - Amani Williams scored 17 points, came up with seven steals and passed for four assists to lead the Scotch Plains-Fanwood girls' basketball team to a 62-29 victory over Newark Collegiate Academy on Tuesday.

Scotch Plains-Fanwood (7-13) broke the game open in the second quarter, when a 24-6 run gave the Raiders a 40-17 halftime lead.

Caroline Babis finished with 16 points, nine steals and seven rebounds; Katie Harper handed out a team-high five assists; and Thabitha Dwunfour grabbed 10 rebounds, blocked two shots and had two assists in the victory.

Kara Foley chipped in with eight points and five rebounds in the triumph.

Newark Collegiate's record is 9-9.
