Scotch Plains-Fanwood Schools to Have Early Dismissal Tuesday

SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ - District schools will be following the early dismissal schedule on Tuesday in anticipation of the snowstorm that is forecast to begin by the afternoon, if not earlier.

Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School will dismiss students at 12:08 p.m. Park and Terrill middle schools will have a 12:20 p.m. dismissal. All the district elementary schools will release students at 12:40 p.m. Parents with students in both the elementary and middle schools should note that the difference between the dismissals at the two levels is only 20 minutes, as opposed to 30 minutes during a normal full school day.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the area which will remain in effect until 6 a.m. Wednesday. The forecast calls for between 6 and 10 inches of snow, including 4 to 6 inches during the day on Tuesday.
