SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — The JCC of Central New Jersey’s Early Childhood Cares Committee recently organized a collection of school supplies for students of James Monroe Elementary School in Edison, which burned down in March.

“As a mother and an executive in my local PTO, it is my deep understanding of how much personal sacrifice both economically and emotionally goes into our schools that makes James Monroe’s loss so heartbreaking,” said organizer Lisa Blitt, who lives in Westfield. “At times like these we need to come together as a larger community and a collection like ours is one of the best ways to show how much we care.”
