The deadline to apply for a 2014 health plan through the Affordable Care Act is March 31, 2014.
On Saturday afternoon, March 22, from noon to 4 p.m., representatives from Get Covered America will be at Scotch Plains Public Library. They will work with area residents to complete and submit the application needed to enroll in a health plan before the March 31 deadline.
To make an appointment for individual assistance with an application at Scotch Plains Public Library, interested parties can contact Tatiana Castrillon at (551) 206-8164, or they can sign up online to attend at www.getcoveredamerica.org/event. Efforts will be made to accommodate drop-ins, but priority will be given to registrants.
Castrillon states, “You may qualify for financial assistance. You cannot be denied due to a pre-existing condition. All plans must cover the important benefits you need. Se habla Español.”
The Scotch Plains Public Library programs are free and open to the public. The Scotch Plains Library is located at 1927 Bartle Ave., one block from Park Avenue in the center of town.
