Scotch Plains Public Library to Host the Mariposa DR Foundation

On Wednesday, January 9 at 7:00 PM at the Scotch Plains Public Library, Jessica Lawson–the Associate Director and co-founder of the Mariposa DR Foundation–will speak about the Girl Effect and the importance of educating and empowering girls in the Dominican Republic. You can learn more at

The Mariposa DR Foundation was started in 2009 by a group of children, adolescents, and caring adults who were inspired by past works and the urgent need for community-based solutions to end poverty.
