Scotch Plains Resident Scratches Her Way to a Million Dollars

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ - Sylvia Vasquez, a resident of Scotch Plains, became the first grand prize winner of the latest $150 Million Cash Spectacular of the New Jersey Lottery.

Vasquez bought $22 worth of instant tickets, but only had to scratch one to hit the top prize of $1 million. The odds of hitting the million-dollar prize are over 2 million to one.

The newest millionaire in Scotch Plains plans to start a college fund, give a gift to their parents and use the rest of the money to buy a home.

The winning ticket was sold by W’s Freshmart on 2490 Route 22 East in Union.
