Scotch Plains/Fanwood Senior makes All Star Game

SCOTCH PLAINS: Anthony Byers, a senior running back and linebacker for the Scotch Plains-Fanwood football team, has recently been selected to play in the34th annual North-South All-Star Football Classic

The senior averaged over 11 yards per carry while rushing for over 193 yards per game for the Raiders. Byers also averaged 14 yards per reception out of the backfield. Byers is undecided thus far on where he will continue his career, and the North-South All-Star Football  game will be a great opportunity for Byers to showcase his skills
for the entire state.

In addition to his football talents, Byers also starred on the Scotch Plains- Fanwood basketball team.

He was able to secure a spot in the north-south game along with three other players from Union county. The game is set to be played at Kean University on June 25, 2012,  following a four-day, college type practice simulation to prepare for the game.
