Season's 52 Fresh Grill Coming to Bridgewater

August 26, 2014 at 12:00 PM

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Season's 52 Fresh Grill is coming to the Bridgewater Commons Mall.

The restaurant is being built on property formerly used by Bloomingdale's at the mall.

In February 2013, the township council approved a request form the mall to build out on about 10,000 square feet of space that had been previously reserved for an expansion of Bloomingdale's. The store had reserved an expansion of 40,000 square feet, and agreed to reduce that expansion to 30,000 square feet to allow mall developers to use that remaining 10,000 square feet for the expansion of other stores in the mall.

At the time, Bloomingdale's management said they were not planning to expand their own retail space, and were hoping to eventually release more of the expansion space, in segments.

At the Aug. 18 township council meeting, the council approved a resolution to transfer a plenary retail consumption liquor license to the new restaurant.

Bridgewater Township Economic Development Officer Howard Turbowitz said he does not know when the restaurant will officially open.

"We will have to wait awhile to see how construction goes," he said.

According to the restaurant's website, the restaurant is expected to open in Winter 2015. Other New Jersey locations include Cherry Hill, Edison and Princeton.

The restaurant is about seasonally inspired ingredients, with nothing on the menu more than 475 calories, plus an ever-changing selection of global wines.

Construction is currently underway for the restaurant, with a portion of the Bloomingdale's parking lot closed where the restaurant is being built.
