WEST CALDWELL, NJ - Nearly one-fifth of the graduating class of James Caldwell High School, West Caldwell, went home a little happier and less stressed when eleven colleges from throughout the area participated in the school's second annual Instant Decision Day. More than forty college acceptances and twenty associated scholarships were offered to students on Dec. 5, during the event coordinated by Vincenzia Shane, supervisor of guidance.

The event included the following colleges and universities:

“Forty-three students participated in this year’s Instant Decision Day,” said Shane. “With the regular decision deadline for these and other schools quickly approaching, many of these students already know that they have been accepted to one or more colleges.”

In addition to the college acceptances, many students were also offered scholarships based on academic merit. Scholarships ranged from $8,500 to $16,000 per year.

The school will hold another Instant Decision Day on Thursday, Jan. 9, with the County College of Morris and Essex County College participating. In addition, students will have the opportunity to meet with a representative from Artistic Academy, Berkeley College and Lincoln Technical School.
