Second Helicopter Lands in Westfield After Accident on Springfield Ave. in Westfield

WESTFIELD, NJ — Update: One vehicle was invovled in the accident that took place Friday evening on Springfield Avenue, according to Westfield Police Chief David Wayman. Police are not yet releasing any other details while the crash is under investigation.

Springfield Avenue remained closed Friday night from East Broad Street to Mill Lane.

A helicopter landed at Gumpert Field at about 5:30 p.m. Nov. 15, responding to the crash, he told The Alternative Press earlier.

This was the second emergency helicopter landing in Westfield on the same day. At 4:30 p.m., a helicopter landed in Tamaques Park in response to an accident in Clark. To read that story, click here.
