FAR HILLS - A section of Route 202 between Sunny Branch Road and Fox Hunt Lane in Far Hills will be closed beginning Monday while the New Jersey Department of Transportation replaces the Mine Brook culvert.
The project is being federally funded, according to a release from the NJDOT, and the project is expected to be completed prior to Labor Day.
The project is expected to cost $724,000, and a contract has been awarded to Vollers Excavation, the release said.
There will be message signs and detour signs to direct motorists around the closure.
For those heading north on Route 202 through Far Hills to points north of Sunny Branch Road, they should instead take I-287 north to Exit 26B to Mount Airy Road. They will then turn left onto Whitenack Road to Route 202 north of the closure.
Those who take Route 202/206 north to Route 202 to Far Hills Borough, including the NJTransit train station, will be able to take their regular route.
Those looking to go closer to Bernardsville, should also take Exit 26B off I-287 to Mount Airy Road to Route 202.
Motorists who are traveling on Route 202 south, with destinations on the south side of the closure should take North Maple Avenue to I-287 south at Interchange 30 and then head to Exit 22 to access Route 202/206 north or south.
Finally, those on I-287 south should use Exit 26 to access locations on Route 202 north of the closure, or Exit 22 for areas on Route 202/206 south of the closure.
