Sen. Booker Surprised Staff at Nick’s Pizza

FANWOOD, NJ – While U.S. Sen. Cory Booker was scheduled for a rally in Scotch Plains on Saturday afternoon, he decided to make an unscheduled stop in Fanwood.

“We were so happy and surprised Saturday to see Senator Booker walk through our front door at Nick's,” said Jessica Watterson, one of the owners of Nick’s Pizza.

Staff gathered around for a quick photo op before Booker moved on to his scheduled meeting in Scotch Plains.

Later in the afternoon as the Democratic Rally, Booker commented on his unscheduled stop. “I can’t tell you how charged up I am to be here," Booker said. "I started in Fanwood at Nick’s Pizza, I have never before seen French fries and chicken fingers on a pizza, and now I’m here.”
