SOMERVILLE, NJ - The Somerset County Department of Health on Friday reported a total of 5,269 cases of the COVID-19 9coronavirus, an increase of 30 cases overnight, along with 498 deaths since the first case was reported March 8.

Bernards Township's number of confirmed cases now has risen to 333, two more cases since Wednesday, Sept. 23. 

The New Jersey Department of Health Friday reported a total of 202,100 positive cases of the coronavirus since the pandemic began its spread in the state 207 days ago, and a total of 14,306 deaths during that time, an increase of 6 overnight. There have been 3,478,711 COVID-19 tests administered in New Jersey.

The number of COVID-19 cases worldwide is now 32,572,774 with 989,981 having died as a result of exposure to the coronavirus, according to the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention Friday morning.

The CDC this morning reported 207,893 COVID-19 deaths in the United States, with a total of 7,204,980 cases.

The SCDOH has confirmed the deaths of 145 Franklin Township residents; 76 in Hillsborough/Millstone; 69 in Bridgewater; 42 in Bernards Township; 36 in North Plainfield; 33 in Green Brook; 15 in Watchung; 16 in Raritan; 13 in Bound Brook; 14 in Warren; 7 in Manville; 7 in Somerville; 6 in Montgomery; 6 in Branchburg; 5 in Bedminster; 4 in Bernardsville; 3 in South Bound Brook and one in Peapack-Gladstone.

No COVID-19 deaths have been reported in Far Hills, Millstone or Rocky Hill.
