Seton Hall Employee Mugged on Campus

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ – A mugger snatched a handbag from a Seton Hall University employee while she was walking in a campus parking lot Monday afternoon.

The university issued a Pirate Alert through campus email at 5:16 p.m., reporting that the female victim parked her vehicle at 3:32 p.m. and was walking to the Boland Hall/McNulty Hall pedestrian gate when she was accosted. She described her attacker as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a white T-shirt and tan pants.

She told authorities he fled in a silver Jeep Cherokee, leaving the parking lot through the Ward Place gate and heading toward Irvington Avenue.

According to authorities, no weapon was shown. The South Orange Police are investigating.
