Certificate in Computational Thinking
Would you like to understand and solve problems in your life and in the workplace more effectively? Our Certificate in Computational Thinking is the perfect way to improve your analytical and problem-solving skills and give your career a boost! Computational thinking is a new way to solve problems, design systems, and understand human behavior that utilizes computer science techniques.
Who: This certificate should be completed by anyone who solves problems on a regular basis—from business leaders, to parents, to teachers, to scientists—or anyone who is interested in learning about some of the basics of computer programming. The certificate also can enhance the careers of those who are looking to change positions, receive a promotion, or find a job. Note: In order to enroll in this certificate program, students must have passed high school Algebra I (even if it was years ago—we’ll get you back up to speed!).
What: The primary goal of the certificate program is to develop students’ problem-solving skills. You’ll learn how to formulate solutions to problems in a way that is understandable to others. We’ll discuss how computers work, how to divide and conquer problems, how to create better solutions to problems, how to evaluate the efficiency of a solution, and more!
