Seton Hall Prep Takes Win, West Orange High School Takes Third in 41st ECT Wrestling Tournament

WEST ORANGE, NJ - On Saturday, Seton Hall Prep (SHP) took first place at the 41st Essex County Wrestling Tournament at Codey Arena in West Orange beating second place Caldwell by a close score of 177-171.5. West Orange High School (WOHS) took third place with 154 points.

SHP's Anthony Canfora won the 138-pound category and Tom Grosso won the 170-pound category. West Orange's Jordan Velez took the 145-pound category, Chris Morgan took the 182-pound categoy, Antoine Ageday took second in the 220-pound category and Isaiah Adams took second in the 113-pound category.

West Orange Head Coach Stephan Zichella said, "We battled well today. After the seeding meeting, we had to deal with some bad placement. But I'm proud of the way we wrestled throughout the day."

Zichella continued, "There was a small difference in scores in the group totals. It could have gone any way. I'm confident West Orange will secure a conference championship with a win against Caldwell on Friday."

The Mountaineers will face Caldwell at WOHS on Friday, Jan. 31.
