Seton Hall Student Robbed on Cottage Street

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ -- A female Seton Hall University student was robbed at knifepoint while walking on Cottage Street at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Monday night, according to university officials.

According to a Pirate Alert email, the student was approached by a male with a dark-colored knife who demanded her cell phone and money. The victim handed over her phone.

The robber fled on foot to South Orange Avenue. The suspect is described as a black male in his late 20s to early 30s, wearing a dark mask, dark clothing and a leather jacket. 

The reporter is a student participating in hyperlocal journalism partnership between The Alternative Press and Seton Hall University's Department of Communication & The Arts.
