Did you know that The Alternative Press of Lower Providence maintains a free community calendar of events for each and every day? The events calendar is free for those seeking to find fun events, but also for those seeking to use it to get the word out.
We welcome any and all events that are open to the community, and posting is free of charge for a basic event listing on our calendars. From yard sales to bake sales, fundraising car washes to Mommy and Me story times, there is no limit to the community events available in our community. So why not share yours here?
An upgraded listing may be purchased for just $20. Upgraded listings allow for unlimited photographs and access to our e-News, a free emailed newsletter sent directly to our readers’ inboxes each day. If you’d like to purchase a premium listing, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call my cell phone at 215-680-6151. I’d be happy to walk you through the upgrades. As an added bonus, our advertisers that sign on for an annual contract receive free premium event listings any time they'd like.
To add a free listing to our calendars, simply head to the homepage at http://thealternativepress.com/towns/lower-providence./ There you will see a dark grey bar atop of a bright green bar running along the top of the entire homepage. Find “Contribute Content” in that grey bar and click.
Next, find the listing that reads “Calendar Event Listing” and click on “Basic” for the free version.
A form will pop up with basic questions (the name of your event, the time/date, etc.). To have the event run on the proper site, select “Lower Providence” under Towns. Categories can be any general topic such as “free” or “family” or “meeting.” Nearly any you could think of is available, or you may suggest another on the page.
Only add a “Reoccurrence Date” if the exact event is going to go on another date. Adding the SAME one multiple times will not help to have it appear in the calendar and may cause a rejection.
Finally, write a short description, click the “agree to terms” box and click the “Submit Listing” box to finish.
A pop up screen should thank you for your contribution. Please feel free to email me to let me know the new listing is in our system for approval, and I can enter the administrative site to approve it.
If you have any questions along the way, please feel free to call or email me at anytime. I thank you for sharing your event with our readers and our community. We thank you for your time and hope our community news site can serve as a helpful tool for your events now and in the future.
