Union County Sheriff's Officers apprehended a Connecticut man Wednesday after he failed to appear in court to face charges stemming from an incident involving criminal trespass and a samurai sword.

Ramel Wood, 23, was arrested March 14 after he walked into a house in Roselle Park with his 5-year-old son while carrying a foot-long samurai sword. The homeowner did not know Wood who was charged with criminal trespassing, making terroristic threats and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes.

Wood was released from the Union County Jail on March 16 after posting $20,000 in bail but failed to appear for his March 19 court date.

Officers from the Sheriff's Warrant Squad arrested Wood on Seton Avenue in Roselle Park without incident. He is being held at the Union County Jail without bail.
