Shooting Suspect Goodwin Surrenders to Paterson Police

PATERSON, NJ - Michael Goodwin, a city resident wanted in connection with a shooting last Friday afternoon, turned himself in to authorities on Thursday.

Lt. Patrick Murray announced that Goodwin, 28, surrendered to detectives without incident at Paterson Police Headquarters and was being held in police custody pending the setting of bail and an initial court appearance.

A 25-year-old man was shot in the leg near the corner of Crosby Avenue and Kearney Street early last Friday afternoon. Goodwin has been charged with attempted murder and weapons possession offenses. Goodwin turned himself in just two days after The Alternative Press of Paterson published a story on the Paterson police identifying him as a suspect in the case.
