Six Wounded in 4th Ward Drive-By Shooting Monday Night

PATERSON, NJ - Six victims ranging in age from 17 to 61 were wounded in a drive-by shooting in the city's 4th Ward late Monday night.

According to Lt. Patrick Murray, at 10:35 p.m., a dark-colored vehicle initially going west on Godwin Avenue slowed down as it crossed the intersection of Rosa Parks Boulevard. As the vehicle crossed the intersection, numerous shots were fired from the vehicle at a group of people standing on the sidewalk area at the intersection. The vehicle then sped off and continued west on Godwin Avenue toward Carroll Street.

Six victims--four males and two females--were transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment of gunshot wounds. All are currently listed in stable condition. The male victims are 17, 18, 24 and 61 years old. The females are 18 and 45.
