July & August donutation announcement! For the rest of the summer Cedar Ridge Café & Bakery will be donating 15% of the sales of all SMORES DONUTS to Bridges Outreach!
Paul and Michelle will also be making lunches and handing them out in Irvington with Bridges on July 22nd. They have a box in the cafe where we will be collecting reuse-able water bottles and travel size toiletries.
“Bridges provides food, clothing, toiletries and school supplies to our neighboring towns of Newark and Irvington. SOMa community members are significantly more privileged than our neighbors in those towns. 24% of all the homeless people in NJ live in Essex county. So please, if you are able to help us out with this summer’s fundraiser, please do so! We strive to make this county (and country) more equitable for all, no matter how small our impact may be!” said Michelle of Cedar Ridge Bakery & Café.
About Bridges Outreach: Founded in 1988, Bridges reaches out to the homeless in New York City, Newark, Irvington, and Summit each week. This year Bridges Outreach is commemorating 30 years of helping our neighbors in need who are homeless and food insecure. Over these 30 years we’ve met many thousands of homeless individuals and delivered more than 100,000 meals and literally tons of clothing. In 2014, Bridges opened Project Connect in Newark to offer case management services that lead to better health, jobs, and housing.
About Cedar Ridge Café & Bakery: The Cedar Ridge Cafe & Bakery is a collaboration of self-taught baker Joe Ramaikas (The Cupcake Corral) and chef Paul Holtzman, as well as the manager and head baker, Joe’s protégé, Michelle Mancuso. They specialize in vegan comfort food.
