Somerset County Golf Tournaments Coming

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Somerset County Park Commission is holding its upcoming golf tournaments at several different facilities, and each tournament requires pre-registration and an entrance fee.

Application forms are available in golf shops at Neshanic Valley in Branchburg, Green Knoll on Garretson Road in Bridgewater, Warrenbrook on Warrenville Road in Warren Township, Spooky Brook at Colonial Park in Somerset and Quail Brook on New Brunswick Road in Somerset.

The 55th Annual Michael S. Kline Memorial Somerset County Tournament will be held at Spooky Brook Sept. 6, Warrenbrook on Sept. 7, Quail Brook on Sept. 13 and Green Knoll on Sept. 14.

The tournament is open to any registered golfers who are ages 10 or over. Players must have a current USGA handicap to participate, and flights will be based on USGA handicaps.

Awards, according to a release, will be presented in each flight.

In addition, the 36th Annual Senior Tournament will be contested at Quail Brook Golf Course Sept. 10. This 18-hole medal play event is open to any registered senior men and women golfers who are 62 years old or older.

Players will also compete in flights that are based on age, with prizes awarded in each.
