Neshanic Valley Academy Ranked Top Short Course in United States and Joins Neshanic Valley and Quail Brook Courses in top 20 for the Garden State
 

SOMERVILLE – Somerset County Park Commission led the way for public golf courses in New Jersey, landing three in the top 20 according to the leading industry publication GolfAdvisor. Somerset County had the most public courses on the list with three, including Neshanic Valley, Quail Brook, and the Academy Course at Neshanic Valley which was also rated the best short course in the nation.

“We here in Somerset County, players and personnel, know that our public courses are among the best in the Garden State,” said Geoffrey Soriano, Director of the Somerset County Park Commission. “Our golf staff takes great care to maintain our courses at world class levels, and combines that commitment with challenging but fun course design that allow golfers of every level to enjoy 9 or 18 holes.”

Neshanic Valley Golf Course in Branchburg has been ranked in the top 20 for the past six years, and this year moved up two places to Number 6 in the state. Quail Brook Golf Course in Somerset is returning for its second year at Number 20, and the 9-hole the Academy Course at Neshanic Valley course joins the top 20 at Number 7 and leads the nation for short course for the first time.

Golf Advisor bases its top 20 list on player ratings, weighting newer ratings and reviews to ensure that improvements are taking into account in the rankings. Neshanic Valley and the Academy Course at Neshanic Valley are currently open, but may be closed due to winter weather and are operating under COVID pandemic restrictions for the protection of golfers and staff. Presently, Quail Brook is open on a limited basis, predominantly weekends with forecasted favorable weather conditions.
