Volunteer groups will provide prepackaged meals at event in Bridgewater on Sunday, Nov. 22
Bridgewater, N.J., Nov. 12, 2020 – On Sunday, November 22, Somerset County volunteers will provide free Thanksgiving dinners to go at the Bridgewater PeopleCare Center from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Families and individuals in need are invited to pick up a prepackaged Thanksgiving meal at no cost outside the building. For safety during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, everyone must wear a mask/face covering and observe social distancing.
The event is sponsored by the Somerville Alliance for Food Education (SAFE) in partnership with The Food Bank Network of Somerset County and Vibha.
“We encourage everyone to either pick up a meal or donate to support their neighbors in need,” said Betty Krupka, SAFE board member. “We’re happy to be able to continue this Thanksgiving tradition in this unprecedented time, when the need is greater than ever for many in our community.”
Donations of frozen turkeys, frozen vegetarian lasagnas, desserts, and monetary contributions are also requested. Socks and gloves can be donated through SAFE’s Amazon wishlist. For more information: 732-421-9809 or DinnerSAFE@gmail.com.
