SOPD Promotes Alan DiEsso to Lieutenant

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ – The Board of Trustees approved the promotion of Alan DiEsso to lieutenant in the South Orange Police Department at its meeting Monday night.

He took the oath of office on the main stage of the South Orange Performing Arts Center surrounded by his family.

Chief James Chelel said that DiEsso joined the force 16 years ago and praised his “commitment to his job.”

Most recently, DiEsso was assigned to community relations and worked closely with the Neighborhood Watch program. He will be assigned to the patrol division.
