SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – Here is the weekly report of South Brunswick athletes who are now playing in the NFL and for major colleges across the country.
Mohamad Sanu, wide receiver for the Atlanta Falcons, in a one sided win over the Washington Redskins, had 4 receptions out of 5 attempts for a total of 45 yards. His longest reception was 16 yards in the Atlanta 38-14 win. Sanu’s next opponent will be the Cleveland Browns next week at 1 p.m.
Dontae Strickland, running back for the Syracuse Orange, was on the winning side of a 41-24 victory over Wake Forest. Strickland had 13 carries for 64 yards for the Orange. In addition, he caught one pass, however he lost a yard in the attempt. Coach Dino Babers squad will next host Louisville on Friday night at 7 p.m.
Mohamad Jabbie, injured again this week did not get in the game vs Wisconsin’s Badgers. The Scarlet Knights will travel to Michigan to play against the Wolverines. The Michigan squad is presently ranked number five in the country and Chris Asch will certainly have his hands full again next week.
The Michigan squad ran the Nittany Lions off the field this week with a final score of 42-7. Justin Shorter, last year’s five-star recruit from the Vikings state champion team again did not see any action. The Nittany Lions will travel to meet Wisconsin on Saturday.
