SOUTH ORANGE, NJ – Police arrested three Newark residents, charging them with breaking into a home on Montrose Street on Oct. 3.
Officers pursued the suspects into Newark, where they were apprehended with the assistance of Newark officers and the state police. Christopher Friday, 32, Darren Allen, 33, and Basil Hope, 51, were charged with burglary and resisting arrest at 8:30 a.m. Police were alerted to the break-in by a neighbor who reported seeing three men breaking into the rear of the home.
Police also made an arrest in an incident were a man reportedly exposed himself to two females in Village Plaza on Sept. 27. Kevin Davy, 22, of South Orange, was arrested at 11 p.m. on Oct. 3. The suspect was identified by the victims.

A Mercer Place resident told police that someone tried to break into his house on Oct. 2. The burglar tried to gain entry through multiple windows on the first and second floors, all of which were locked.
- Luis Melendez, 21, a Maplewood resident, was arrested on Oct. 1 after using a credit card that was stolen during a burglary on Ward Place earlier in the week.
