The secure box, located under the gazebo on Sloan Street outside the NJ Transit Train Station, is available 24/7 for you to drop your ballot up until 8 p.m. on Election Day. The State of New Jersey is mailing all registered voters a ballot for the November 3rd election. Residents may place their ballots in the box, or by regular mail, or in any secure collection box in Essex County; you will still have the ability to vote provisionally in person if you prefer.
The two closest parking spaces to the gazebo are reserved until the election for the convenience of dropping off a ballot.
All ballots come with a postage paid return envelope if you prefer to mail yours utilizing the USPS. It is recommended that you mail your ballot at least one week before Election Day.
All Essex County residents are able to hand deliver their ballot to the County Board of Elections located at 465 Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard, Newark. Proper identification is required.
According to the State of NJ website, ballots will be mailed no later than October 5, but many counties will begin before then. As soon as residents receive them, voting may begin. Voters will be able to track their ballot through a "track my ballot" portal.
You may also drop your ballot in person to your designated polling station on Election Day between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. Voters may only drop their own ballots off.
