SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - The South Orange Village Center Alliance (SOVCA) is seeking two individuals to fill open positions on its volunteer Board of Directors.
The board is made up of a combination of property owners, business owners, residents and other stakeholders, as is mandated by ordinance. The positions currently open are one Business Owner Director (someone who owns a business within the Special Improvement District boundaries) and one Resident Director (someone whose primary residence is within South Orange).
“Our board is a great mix of backgrounds, personalities and strengths,” said Matt Glass, board chair. “What we share is a deep commitment to making South Orange Village Center a better place for all of our stakeholders. We expect a lot from our board members but I think they get to see a return on their efforts in what we’re accomplishing.”
Board members are expected to attend one monthly full Board meeting as well as various committee meetings and should expect to dedicate at least a few hours a week to accomplishing the organization’s goals. The director terms are three years in length.
Interested candidates are being asked to send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org including a resume and cover letter which discusses why you’d be a good fit for the Board and any relevant experience. All applications will be acknowledged but only those candidates asked for an interview will be contacted.
