South Plainfield Boys Lose Thriller to Middlesex 44-42


SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – Middlesex defeated the South Plainfield Tigers Boys Basketball Team 44-42 in a last second thriller in South Plainfield.  South Plainfield led Middlesex by as many as eight points in the first half, but Middlesex rallied in the second half to record the victory.  A South Plainfield layup rolled out of the basket as time expired in the game.

South Plainfield’s Chris Mathis led the Tigers in scoring with 17 points.  South Plainfield led the game 36-34 heading into the fourth quarter, but could not hold on to the lead in the final minutes of the game.  The Tigers next play Wednesday 2/12/14 away against Bishop Ahr.
