South Plainfield Field Hockey Dominates Piscataway 7-0


SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – The South Plainfield Tigers Field Hockey team defeated Piscataway 7-0 in the first round of the Greater Middlesex County tournament yesterday in South Plainfield.  South Plainfield came into the game as the number one seed in the tournament and they fit the bill.  Shannon Hughes had three goals and an assist and Jess Bishop had two goals and an assist.  Meghan Hughes and Charlotte Macchia each added a goal for the Tigers.  South Plainfield peppered Piscataway goalie Hannah Isaacs with 26 shots on goal.  Isaacs had 19 saves in the loss.

Courtney Ross recorded the shutout in goal for the Tigers.  The Tigers play the winner of Monroe versus Metuchen this Tuesday in South Plainfield.
