SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - The South Plainfield Knights of Columbus Council 6203 held their annual Keystone Special Citizens Community Lunch at the Holy Savior Academy on March 9th. Each month throughout the year Sacred Heart Church holds a Special Mass for the Mentally Challenged residents from the Keystone Community as well as other residents from Middlesex County.  This month’s theme was St Patrick’s Day.

This year the residents had a very special visitors the Shea-Jennings School of Irish Dance from Garwood performed many traditional Irish dances. Led by the teacher Meg Conroy, the dancers who performed included Adelaide, Kaily, Lenna, Carly, Genevieve, Amelia, Delany, Jessica, Caitlyn, Avery, Aoife, Maeve, Elizabeth and Victoria

The South Plainfield Knights have supported this Special Citizens lunch for over 35 years. Pizza, Pretzels, Dessert and drinks were served to the over 60 residents that attended.

Those who helped out this year were the following Knights – Grand Knight Joe Wilkowski, Robert Smith, Steve Belanger, Tony Wargacki, Ed King, Bill McDonough, John DeAndrea and Tom Frantz.

Also the Knights have to thank to following women who help run this event each month for Sacred Heart Church - Kathy Keenan, Angela Mecurio, Maria Piesche, Dot Mercier, Eileen Sanchez, Ginny Valvano and Janet Jones as well donated all of the St Patrick’s gifts
