Every Month Sacred Heart Church holds a special Mass for the Mentally Challenged residents from the Keystone Community as well as other residents from around Middlesex County. This month’s theme was St Patrick’s Day.
The South Plainfield Knights have supported this lunch for over 30 years. Pizza, Pretzels, Dessert and drinks were served to the over 80 residents that attended. The following Knights who helped out were, Steve Belanger, Tom Pollack, Joe Rea, Joe Scrudato and Joe Zipp.
Father Michael J. McGivney founded the Knights of Columbus as a fraternal benefit society at a time in the United States when Catholic immigrants were being forced to renounce their Faith in order to earn a livelihood for their families. Our mission as Knights of Columbus, is to keep Father McGivney's dream alive, to actively seek out Catholic men and invite them to be a part of our community of Christian family life through participation in our social and fraternal programs of service to our Church, community, and youth.
