WARETOWN, NJ - Breaker’s Kitchen & Tap is a bar and restaurant in Waretown featuring fresh food, local craft beer, handmade cocktails and great service.

Owners Katie Davis and Kelly Ford opened Breaker’s a year ago and it has quickly become a hot-spot for locals!

The sisters have lived in Barnegat for over 15 years and were always interested in the restaurant business and worked in the industry before and during college.

Kelly went on to work as a teacher in education, and then eventually as a school administrator.

Katie became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, leading to opening her own practice doing in-home counseling.

Katie and Kelly dedicated their restaurant to their father, who passed suddenly in 2011.

“One of his dreams was to own a restaurant, and we know he’s getting a kick out of all this,” they shared.

Owning a business together has been a rewarding experience for the sisters in many ways.

They love, “watching all the gears working together to provide the food and drinks to the happy guests. The sights and sounds of people connecting and laughing and having a good time.”

Active residents of the community, the two also enjoy, “fundraising and coordinating events with the community – the feeling that we are a part of something bigger and what a privilege that is.”

In addition to their bar and dining areas, Breaker’s also offers a beautifully renovated large banquet area with a separate entrance, bar, restrooms and stage for private events.

They are planning to add an outdoor area as well by summer. Katie and Kelly have a lot of upcoming events planned for 2019, including:
