Sparta High School Art Students Exhibit at Peters Valley

SPARTA, NJ- Several Sparta High School art students will have their creative works on display at Peters Valley 2014 Sussex County Student Exhibition.  The show runs from January 26 through February 16, with an opening reception on Saturday, Jan 26, from 3 p.m until 5 p.m.

Freshman Michael Botta will be exhibiting.  Sophomores Rebecca Cristillo is showing  a graphite hand ink piece and Emily Johnson will also have her work displayed.

Juniors Aimee Buchanan and Caitlyn McGrath will be exhibiting, Andrew Altieri will show a ceramic coil vase, Emily Haag with both a ceramic clock and a mixed media tree, Belinda Hoffman will show a cardboard sculpture, Sally Roscoe will have a graphite self-portrait on display and Justine Potter entering in Photography.

Seniors are represented by Isabella Cuan also entering in Photography, Christine Galley with at ceramic teapot set "Octopot",  Athena Kuszai with a ceramic teapot set called "Mushroom pot", Kristy LeVan with a wood and string sculpture and Stephen Vocaturo entering with Graphic Arts/Digital Photography.

The exhibit will include ceramics, drawing, painting, jewelry, sculpture, photography and other mixed media.  There will be one full-tuition Huber-Weyer  Scholarship awarded to the 'Best in Show,' according to the Peters Valley organization.

Sparta Police: Newton Man Causes Accident, Faces DWI Charges

SPARTA, NJ – After a two-car accident on Main Street a Newton man was charged with several DWI related offenses.  On January 13 around 5:34 p.m. Sparta police responded to a call of an accident at the intersection of Main Street and Town Center Drive, near the Stop and Shop police report.

Sparta Police Seek Help Identifying Car Burglary Suspect

SPARTA, NJ – The Sparta police are asking the community for help in locating a person of interest in several car burglaries.
