Sparta High School Baseball and Softball Both Beat Morris Hills at Home

SPARTA, NJ- Sparta High School baseball team beat Morris Hills at home 11-1. The game ended in the fifth inning with Austin Unglaub earning five RBI going 3-4.  Thomas Ruddy also had three hits earning three RBIs. 

Pitching for Sparta was Kevin Foulds and Drew Garger.  Sparta's record is now 11-4.  They will host Delaware Valley on Monday, May 5 at 4 p.m.

Spartans Softball team beat Morris Hills 9-1 at home as well.  Alex Heim went 3-4 with two RBIs.  Courtney McKenna, Amanda Johnson and Carly Friedman each had two hits.  Johnson scored twice with a run each from Gretchen Bowie, Friedman, Taylor Gudenkauf and Heim.

Marty Mastriani and Bowie split the game pitching with Bowie getting the win.  Bowie allowed four hits with three strikeouts, going four innings. Mastriani threw for three innings allowing only two hits.

Sparta softball has a record of 11-6 so far.  They will travel across town to face Pope John on Tuesday, May 6 at 4 p.m.
